Rules of the city
ONARU City is a shared city. These rules keep it fair and friendly for everyone.
Draft for owner review. This page describes how the game works today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Items marked [owner to confirm] need a decision before launch.
Be a good neighbour
- No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, or sharing other people's private information.
- Use a name that is yours. Do not pretend to be another player, the city government, or a real business or person.
- Roles such as President and Vice President are held only by verified accounts. They cannot be picked in a menu or claimed by typing a name.
Play fair
- No cheating: editing saves, replaying requests, using bugs for coins, or automating play. Rewards, cargo, property and votes are decided by our server. Anything the browser claims is checked, and anything that does not add up is rejected.
- Report bugs instead of using them. Using one to gain a large advantage can reset the gain.
- Do not trade, sell or advertise the game's virtual items or coins for real money outside the game.
Missions and the city
- Hijack and recovery missions are fictional. They only involve mission vehicles driven by the game. You can never take, damage or lose another player's vehicle, property or paid items.
- A delivery finishing in the game does not do real business work, confirm a payment or promise a job. Real work, payment and employment are agreed outside the game.
- Business offices in the city show whether they are a simulated business or a verified one. Listings are reviewed before they appear.
Voice and chat
- Voice chat is optional and off until you turn it on. A clear indicator shows when your microphone is live. You can mute or block anyone at any time. We do not record voice by default.
Reports, warnings and appeals
- Use Report on a player or message. Reports are reviewed by a person.
- Outcomes: a warning, a temporary mute, a suspension, or removal for serious or repeated breaches. Suspension never deletes your character without notice.
- If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal and your case will be looked at again. [owner to confirm contact route and who reviews appeals]
